ArsTechnica has an article on the quality of MP3 encoders. It's a year old but very informational about the different bit rates. I still like r3mix better but they're both pretty good.

Don't miss the Fight For Life Part 2 at the Stick Figure Death Theatre. It's full of stick figure/Matrix/Crouching Tiger/Flash goodness. Just make sure your speakers are turned way up!

It seems that some of the Palestinians living on the West Bank are a little upset that Arafat's Force 17 is using their houses to shoot at the Israelis.

The KC Star has an interesting article about a scoring problem with the Knights-Skyliners game. It seems the official count had the game at 105-105 at the end. We sat next to some of the KC coaches at the championship and listened to them discuss the issue.

The KC Star has an article summarizing the year for the Knights. We made it to the championship game but not too many others did.

Dan Selgiman writes for Forbes magazine and is one of my favorite columnists. Hist latest article is on extreme weather. His columns usually contain a mix of statistics and word usage in publications. He spends most of his time debunking pop culture myths.

The Knights couldn't quite pull it out. They got buried in the third quarter and just never recovered. The KC Star also has coverage.

The KC Star has an article on the Knights and the job that Kevin Pritchard has done as coach.

MP3 rippers should check out r3mix.net for some great information on ripping high quality MP3's.

eCompany has their list of the 100 Dumbest Moments in eBusiness History. And they're actually pretty good.

KNIGHTS WIN! The Knights won their first round playoff game against Los Angeles. At least one team in Kansas City is winning. They play Chicago on Friday for the right to represent the Western Conference in the Championship Game. No mention of this on the KC Star's web site. Maybe something made it into the print edition.

The Royals got pounded by the Yankees tonight. I read somewhere that the Yankess starting five pitchers make as much as the entire Royal's team. How can the Royals compete? The current collective bargaining agreement ends at the close of this season. Please do something to increase the parity around the league. Give the small markets a chance. Either that or the small markets should boycott games against the Yankees, etc. I would love to find a site or article with some of the economic stats for baseball. I'm curious how much a large payroll really affects winning. I'd like to know more about where the money comes from.

Tonight the Knights begin play in the ABA tournament. Good luck guys. If the Royals get rained out we'll be there :)

What happens when a jet lands on an Interstate in downtown Los Angeles? This film was created by two guys in their spare time.

Hernando de Soto has written an interesting book called The Mystery of Capital. His basic arguement is that property rights were one of the key factors in the growth of America over the last 200 years. Slashdot published a review relating to intellectual property.

The recent crashes of the V-22 Osprey have been partially attributed to software errors. One of the best groups writing software today, develops software for the Space Shuttle. It's very interesting to read how their process differs from most organizations.

Ensemble Studios has published the first screenshot from their new game codenamed RTS3. If this is even half as addictive as AoE/AoK it looks like virtual crack will have a new name!

I just installed Windows XP to poke around. Man, this thing is beautiful. The new ClearType fonts have to be seen to be believed!
