Oil = Stupidity
There's a great post over at PowerLine titled "Wasn't There a Time When Republicans Knew Something About Economics?"

1) Gas Tax Holiday Rebate: everyone gets a check for $100.

Taxes are a large part of the cost of gasoline. How about if we cut them?

It's a sad and funny post. The comments at the end by Mike Conway (R-TX) were very interesting.

According to Business Week and Oil Daily magazines, the oil and natural gas industry earned 5.7 cents for every dollar of sales compared to an average of 5.5 cents for all U.S. industry over the past five years.

If we want more gasoline supply shouldn't we want the gasoline suppliers to make more money?
